Definition of telemedicine/telehealth

furnish medical information and services. Telemedicine
consultations must be made via two-way, interactive
video or store-and-forward technology.”

Live Video Reimbursement
(see Medicaid column) Minnesota’s Medical Assistance program reimburses
live video for fee-for-service programs.
Prepaid health plans may choose whether to cover
telemedicine services.
Eligible “spoke” providers:
• Physician
• Nurse practitioner
• Clinical nurse specialist
• Physician Assistant
• Certified nurse midwife
• Podiatrist or
• Mental Health professional
Eligible “hub” site provider:
• Must be a specialist.
